What is Frax Laser?
The Frax 1550, or the “Frax Laser”, is a fractional laser used to resurface and rejuvenate the skin. This non-ablative treatment uses fractionated, or tiny fractions, of powerful laser beams to stimulate collagen production while also promoting rapid healing. Increased collagen production will improves the appearance of scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and overal skin texture.

Is Frax Laser right for you?
Most patients will be a candidate for this procedure, however, some skin types may be at risk of post procedure pigmentation issues.
Pre treatment
- Avoid sun tanning and sunbeds for 4-6 weeks before your treatment
- Please let us know if you have had other treatments to the areas for 3-4 weeks prior to your treatment, this include any laser therapies, chemical peels, botox, fillers, and microneedling
- Discountinue use of any retinol products a minimum of 4-7 days prior to treatment
- Remove any facial jewlery prior to treatment
You should not receive Frax Laser treatment if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have any allergies to topical anesthetic preparations
- Have history of keloids or hypertroption scarring
It is important to talk to a healthcare provider prior to the procedure to discuss your treatment goals and any potential concerns that you might impact your overall health condition.
Post Care
What to expect:
- Mild swelling up to 4-5 days post treatment
- Showers can be taken, but please try to avoid hot water and direct shower spray to the treatment area for 48-72 hours following treatment. Avoid all saunas and hot tubs.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours (this includes hot yoga).
- Avoid any aleve or ibuprofen up to 72 hours post procedure
- It is normal for the treated area to feel tight and dry, avoid scratching or rubbing the treated areas
Every patient will receive specially formulated post-care products and instructions to keep the area dry to help with the healing process. It is important to use sun protection long after treatment and incorporate this into your daily skincare routine.
